Attractions of San Luis Obispo
San Luis Obispo city and county, in the middle of the spectacular California Central Coast, are small in population but have a big profile when it comes to high quality attractions. -  Art After Dark - San Luis Obispo:  First Fridays 5 to 8:  Art Galleries remain open with special shows and host special events, often serving wine and hors d'ouevres.

- California Wine Month - countywide in September - Many wineries and tasting rooms will participate in this statewide celebration of California wine.  Check with the local wineries in this listing to find out what they are doing.

- I Madonnari - the annual street painting festival, San Luis Obispo - Sept 13 - 14. Every year we bring this to your attention -- it's amazing to see these works. 805-927-1697.

- 'Plein Air' painting festival - countywide - Sept 29 - Oct 5. 50 of the nation's best plein air painters are invited to participate. View their works, purchase their works, hear from them about their craft.  Auction.  At the SLO Art Center and other locations. 805-543-8562.

-Morro Bay Harbor Festival - Morro Bay - Octoberr 4 - 5. Sun, music, food and fun on the Embarcadero. 800-366-6043.

- Harvest Wine Tour - Paso Robles - October 17 - 19.  The Paso Wine Alliance and its members put on a big event in fall, with food, fun, and of course great wines.  Call 805-239-8463.

-Open Studios Tour - countywide - two weekends in October: 11 - 12 (north county); 18 - 19 (south county). This wonderful event opens the studios of over 280 artists to the public, to view and purchase their latest works directly from the artist. Call 805-544-9251 to get a guide.

San Luis Obispo Wine Country
Our county is one of the hottest places in the wine world right now. A visit to our wine country inn puts you within 20 to 25 minutes of dozens of the finest winemakers in California wine country. San Luis Obispo Restaurants and Shopping
Our San Luis Obispo bed and breakfast inn is within walking distance of 5 San Luis Obispo restaurants. Just with these five, you will find an amazing range of cuisine, all of it high quality. If you prefer, take the Trolley downtown (Thursday through Sunday) to walk around to find even greater variety, or drive to one of our easy parking garages (within about a mile) if you want to stay late to enjoy music or dancing. While you are downtown, you will find shop after charming shop to browse.

San Luis Obispo County is all about outdoors. It's your choice whether you want to challenge a tough mountain biking trail or one of our championship courses, or whatever. On any given night, you can find world class entertainment somewhere in San Luis Obispo.
